Terms from Statistics for HCI: Making Sense of Quantitative Data

The placement of research into the public domain: instructions, software, raw study data, and derived data. This enables replication and meta-analysis, as well as new research that tests alternative theories, or mines the data for emergent patterns. Consideration must be given to ethical issues such as privacy and transparency, practical issues such as documentation, and cultural issues around the use of data in academic disciplines.
